Preggosphere: Tell us a little bit about yourself

Andrea: I am Canadian and born in Toronto.  I moved to Los Angeles in 2007 to pursue my dental specialties and the sunshine.  My husband is the love of my life and my best friend (I know how “cliche”…but its true).  I met him in 2008 at a UCLA golf tournament and we have been inseparable ever since.  We got married October 5th, 2012 in Barcelona, the most magical day of my life.  We currently live in Los Angeles with our baby Pinxo, a cutie patootie Boston Terrier.  As of now he runs the household, but will have a little competition as soon as baby girl arrives. My hobbies and passion are all about fashion.  I started a mini Fashion account on Instagram over a year ago and it inspired me to start my blog last September.  It has been one of the best decisions I’ve made and I’m loving this blogging journey.

Preggosphere: What is the best and worst part about being pregnant?

Andrea: The best part about being pregnant is feeling this little angel growing inside me.  I love it when she’s moving around and letting me know she’s in there and doing just fine.  Its crazy how much love you have for someone you haven’t even met. The worst part for me is the weight gain, and swollen feet and ankles.  I’m not talking about the growing belly I’m talking about the weight gain everywhere else in my body!!   Thankfully I have been blessed with an easy pregnancy thus far, so I can’t complain.

Preggosphere: That's wonderful. So, how would you describe your fashion style? Has it changed since you got pregnant?

Andrea: My fashion style is classic with a California twist.  I love wearing skinny jeans, a dress shirt and blazer.  That’s my go to look.  I have started to add a little more color and casual bohemian vibes to my style since moving to California.  You can’t walk around the streets of Santa Monica all dolled up. It just doesn’t fit!! I think pregnancy makes you think outside the box when it comes to fashion.  You no longer fit into things the same way you used to, so you have to modify your looks.  I have definitely incorporated more dresses into my style.  I’m usually a pants kind of gal.

Preggosphere:  If I raided your closet right now, what would I find most of?

Andrea: If you went into my closet you would find a disaster zone!!! Jokes aside, I have a lot of jeans, button down shirts and oversized sweaters.  My go to staples.

Preggosphere:  What’s your go-to pregnancy outfit?

Andrea: My go-to pregnancy outfit has been leggings or maternity jeans and a tight top with an over sized sweater, or a dress that compliments the bump.

Preggosphere:  What brands do you love - maternity or otherwise?

Andrea: I don’t think I’m a one-brand kind of girl.  I love to mix and match and try a variety of different brands as you will see from my blog.  When I find an item, I love I repeat quite a bit.

[Bump Style Approved: Pregnancy Q&A with Andrea Henderson] - [Preggo Is the New Black Shirt]

Preggosphere:  Nothing wrong with that, LOL.  Are you skipping the heels while preggo or wear them throughout your pregnancy?

Andrea: I don’t wear heels very often unless it’s for a special occasion or a night out.  I’m such a flats girl it’s not funny.  This past trimester has made it almost impossible for me to wear heels since my feet and ankles are not cooperating.  I have wide feet to begin with, so with the added swelling my heels are just way too tight and uncomfortable.  So kicks and comfortable flats it is.

Preggosphere:  Fill in the blank: I wouldn’t dream of leaving the house without ______

Andrea: My cell phone.  I’m constantly checking Instagram and you never know when there is an opportunity for a picture.  I’m sure when my little girl arrives this would be a very different answer.  Life is about to change!!!

Preggosphere: Oh it definitely is for sure! Fill in the blank:  I feel most comfortable when ---------

Andrea: I’m wearing something that makes me feel great.  This has been more of a challenge for me during my pregnancy but when you find the right pregnancy staples you are good to go.

Preggosphere: What moms do you think have/had great maternity style?

The blogging and Instagram world have been so helpful with this.  I have gotten ideas and inspiration from some fabulous fashionistas.  I love Rachel Parcell from Pink Peonies and Andee Layne from The Honeybee.

Preggosphere: Are you a trend setter or do you prefer to follow the latest trend? Or a little bit of both?

I think a little bit of both.  I don’t always veer towards super trendy items but rather I stick with more classic looks and make them trendy my own way.  I don’t like wearing exactly what everyone else is wearing.
