Every mama on the face of the planet would agree that breastfeeding is a beautiful thing because it is, in fact, a very natural act. Is it not? So why do people get so damn testy when it comes to seeing real moms breastfeed? Time and time again, we have seen lots of beautiful moms breastfeed their babies and get nothing but nasty comments and backlash for simply breastfeeding. Arizona photographer, Jade Beall, is the latest mom feeling the wrath of people (mostly men) bad mouthing her own personal picture of her breastfeeding her son along with a picture she took of a group of women breastfeeding their kids.
"I received many private messages (all from men) telling me I should remove the photo,' she told Cosmo. When someone, likely one of these men, realized she'd missed blurring one nipple, the photo was taken down."
Censored"The Beautiful Body Project" which was published last year. In the book, Jade published photographs of unretouched women along with their stories to help build self-esteem in a world where women's bodies are scrutinized. Jade says: "Do I think it's silly that men can have exposed nipples but women cannot as a rule for this platform? Sure, she says. 'But what I would love most is for Americans to redefine their relationship to a woman's breasts and to praise and celebrate the nude, varying body shapes without having to label them disgusting or unhealthy." Exactly! We couldn't have said it better.
