Congratulations! You are going to be a mommy!
Your body is going through a lot of wonderful changes in preparation for the arrival of your baby. So it’s important to have the proper bras during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Why?
Because it will help give your breasts adequate support and make feeding your child easy and discreet.
But which maternity and nursing bra should you get? One with underwire or one without?

Soft cup nursing bras (the ones with no underwire) are typically more comfortable when the breasts are at their fullest which is during the last few months of pregnancy and first 6-8 weeks of breastfeeding after your baby is born.
Many pregnant women choose soft cups during their pregnancy and during breastfeeding because of the constant change in size and volume of the breasts which often become sensitive and sore. However, many mommies fear that soft cup nursing and maternity bras usually lack support and style but there are many great options in the market now that gives you both great style and support (like a You! Lingerie bra — I know, I know, but I could not resist the plug:)
Underwires typically are known to provide great support and lift…but, some strongly advises against wearing them during breastfeeding. However, if you are one of those mommies who has always worn underwire bra and you need the support, it is imperative that you choose an underwire nursing bra that is flexible and cushioned.
Also, make sure the wire fits well underneath and behind the breast tissue. Pressure on the breast tissue can result in a plugged duct and can cause mastitis or breast infection.
So happy nursing and maternity bra shopping!
